The Basic Steps For Water Damage Restoration
There are many steps that need to be performed for a successful restoration.
Make sure you hire experienced, licensed, certified water restoration professional.
Step 1: Inspection
If you suspect your home or office has water damage, call Water Damage Solutions. Our teams are ready to help 24/7 and able to respond at a moment’s notice.
Our experienced, certified technicians will perform a detailed assessment to determine the cause of damage and what further action is required to repair any water damage. Once this step has been completed, we will advise if there are any safety concerns involved and all ensure that all of your property’s contents are secured safely before the restoration work begins.
Step 2: Water Extraction
Mitigating additional damage and removing the standing water needs to be completed as quickly as possible. Anything wet or damaged such as clothing, rugs, drapes, furniture and toys will need to be removed from the affected area. Finally, after all water has been removed, our trained technicians will remove the wet areas on walls, floors, or ceilings to help facilitate the drying process.
In some cases, baseboards will be removed along with any drywall that cannot be salvaged. Once all items have been removed and the wet surfaces have been wiped down, cabinet doors and drawers will be opened to allow proper drying.
Step 3: Water Damage Stabilization & Drying
Our certified technicians use state-of-the-art commercial equipment, which includes dehumidifiers, air movers, floor drying equipment, and heaters to stimulate dry air, increase the air circulation, and create evaporation.
On average, the drying out process takes 2 to 4 days, during which time the area will be carefully monitored, and all results will be carefully recorded. This step is critical to ensure there is no possibility of additional mold growth.
Step 4: Damage Reassessment
Once the property is completely dry, a certified technician will return to your home or office to perform an additional inspection to ensure there are no hidden areas of moisture that could lead to further damage or develop into a mold problem.
If mold is found anywhere on your property, our specially trained mold remediation team will complete the removal of the mold damage. Although mold growth occurring after the drying process is rare, it is something our inspectors are trained to identify.
Step 5: Reconstruction
Once everything is completely dry and passes our damage reassessment, construction can begin to repair any structural damage and replace materials that were removed in the remediation.
Once construction has been completed, your property will once again be a safe & healthy environment having been fully restored to its pre-loss condition.
